Strengthening a Growing Department
At Southwest Fabrication, continuous improvement isn’t just a phrase, it’s a commitment. As part of a wider strategic investment plan for 2026, we are proud to announce the full replacement of our TIG and MIG welding machines across the department. This latest upgrade marks another significant step in strengthening our fabrication capabilities and ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality, efficient and environmentally responsible manufacturing solutions.
Our welding department has experienced sustained growth, driven by increased customer demand and a 19% rise in overall sales in 2025 compared to 2024. To support this momentum, we have welcomed two new skilled welders to the team and invested in a complete fleet replacement of our welding equipment.
By replacing older machines with the latest TIG and MIG technology, we are ensuring our team has the tools they need to work more efficiently, safely and accurately.
Enhanced Capability for Thicker Materials
The new generation welding machines significantly expand our production capabilities. One of the key advantages is the ability to work with thicker materials more effectively, opening the door to:
• Heavier fabrication projects
• Increased structural applications
• Greater flexibility across sectors
• Improved weld consistency and penetration
This investment allows us to take on more complex and demanding fabrication work, giving our customers confidence that we can support both current and future requirements.
Improved Efficiency and Environmental Performance
Efficiency and sustainability are central to our 2026 investment strategy. The new TIG and MIG machines are:
• More energy-efficient
• More stable in arc performance
• Designed for reduced waste and improved material utilisation
• Built with enhanced control systems for consistent weld quality
By upgrading to modern equipment, we reduce power consumption, improve productivity and contribute towards more environmentally responsible manufacturing processes.
Part of a Wider 2026 Investment Plan
This welding upgrade complements our recent investment in a new high-performance air recirculating oven and a fully compliant airflow water wash spray booth. Together, these improvements strengthen our end-to-end fabrication and finishing capabilities.
The combined investment ensures:
• Greater production capacity
• Improved quality control
• Enhanced finishing standards
• A safer, compliant working environment
• Increased throughput to meet rising demand
Investing in the Future
At Southwest Fabrication, investment is about more than machinery. It’s about backing our people, improving our processes and building long-term capability. With new equipment, an expanding skilled team and a clear strategy for growth, we are well-positioned for a strong 2026 and beyond.
